Kinds of junk: physical and mental/emotional
There are two different kinds of junk-- physical and mental/emotional—and both kinds of junk can weigh you down.
Like housecleaning to keep our homes free of physical junk, you have to focus on keeping your mental and emotional "house" clean and in order as well. Praying, journaling, meditation and exercise are common ways for you to be sure your emotional issues of the past aren't seeping into your current relationships. These activities help you remain on top of and aware of your emotions and feelings, and rather than stuffing them inside, help you process issues as they arise.
Before you leave junk in your trunk, clean up emotionally.
